Who the work suits

People who already like walking, or who want to be paid while they get out of the house. Retired and semi-retired applicants are very welcome, as are anyone who can give a regular few hours in the week.

  • Adults aged 21 to 80
  • A minimum of about 5–6 hours walking a week
  • Able to complete a round within seven days
  • Happy to work locally, or travel by car to a nearby zone

What you will do

Deliver leaflets through letterboxes, following a mapped round. This is not free-newspaper work, so the bag is lighter and you will not need a trolley once you know the streets.

Most people reach 150–250 houses an hour after a familiarisation period. A thousand households is typically five to six hours for an average walker.

Pay

We pay per 1,000 households, not per leaflet. There is a rate for the first items and more for extra or heavier stock. If you use a car we discuss a travel allowance. Rates are confirmed when we call you, because they depend on the round.

Hours

Fit the walk into the day or the weekend. You have a week to finish the allocated streets. With a car we can often keep you busy two or three days a week when the work is there.

The arrangement

This is casual freelance work supplied according to your availability. There is no contract of employment. We only take people on where we have rounds, so please apply with a real local postcode.
